Abstract

An investigation was conducted during 2021-22 to find out the impact of vermicompost, enriched compost and microbial consortium on the chlorophyll content, leaf relative water content and nutrient uptake Green Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) in the organic block of experimental farm, Department of Horticulture, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. The experiment was laid out with 7 treatments in Randomized Block Design and replicated 3 times. The findings revealed that the maximum chlorophyll content (1.84 mg 100-g ) was obtained in T₇ (Enriched compost @ 5 t ha-1 ).The highest leaf relative water content of 85.57 % was recorded in T5 (Vermicompost @ 5t ha-1 +microbial consortium) followed by T7 (84.27%).The highest nitrogen (29.75 Kg ha-1 ), phosphorus (9.04 Kg ha-1 ) and potassium (15.98 Kg ha-1 ) uptake were recorded in T7. The minimum nutrient uptake was obtained in T1 (Absolute control). Hence, considering the positive effect on the above mentioned physiological parameters, T₇ (Enriched compost@ 5 t ha-1 ) can be considered the best treatment for adopting under field conditions.
